Pre & Post Treatment Care Instructions

Please keep in mind: These instructions are designed as a general guide for both pre and post-treatment care.

Depending on your specific service, there may be additional or alternative recommendations. Taking good care of your skin before and after your treatment plays a key role in achieving the best possible outcome.

If you’re unsure about anything, don’t hesitate to reach out – we’re here to help.

Pre-Treatment Care Instructions:

Limit Sun Exposure
To keep your skin calm and ready, avoid direct sun and tanning beds for at least 48 hours before your appointment. Too much sun can make your skin more reactive and prone to irritation. Daily SPF (30+) is a must leading up to your treatment.

Pause Active Skincare Ingredients
If you’re using retinoids, Vitamin A, glycolic or salicylic acids – or anything exfoliating – please stop at least 3 to 5 days before your treatment. This helps reduce the risk of dryness or inflammation.

Hydration is Key
Drink plenty of water in the days before your treatment to support skin hydration. Well-hydrated skin not only responds better but also heals faster.

Skip Waxing & Shaving
If we’re treating an area with body hair, please avoid waxing or shaving for at least 48 hours beforehand to prevent sensitivity.

Avoid Other Treatments
No chemical peels, microdermabrasion, or strong resurfacing treatments for at least 1-2 weeks prior. We want your skin to be calm and ready – not overstimulated.

Minimise Alcohol & Caffeine
Try to avoid alcohol or large amounts of caffeine the day before your session, as both can increase inflammation or skin sensitivity.

Come with Fresh Skin
On the day of your treatment, arrive with a clean face – no makeup, moisturisers, or oils. This allows products and equipment to work more effectively.

Disclose Your Skin History
During your consult, please let us know about any health conditions, allergies, medications, or past treatments. It helps us customise your care and ensure your safety.

Post-Treatment Care Instructions:

Shield from the Sun
Keep your skin away from direct sunlight for at least 72 hours post-treatment. UV exposure can lead to unwanted pigmentation, sensitivity, or irritation. Apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ daily – yes, even on cloudy days.

Hands Off the Treated Area
Avoid touching, rubbing, or picking at your skin. This helps prevent infection, breakouts, or scarring. If you do need to touch the area, make sure your hands are clean.

Hydrate Inside & Out
Support your skin’s healing with a gentle, nourishing moisturiser and lots of water. Hydrated skin heals better and maintains its glow longer.

Skip the Heat
For the next 24-48 hours, avoid hot showers, steam rooms, saunas, or vigorous workouts. Heat can inflame freshly treated skin and slow recovery.

Use Gentle Skincare Only
Wash with a mild, non-active cleanser and lukewarm water for a few days. Steer clear of products with strong actives, alcohol, or fragrance for at least 3-5 days.

Hold Off on Makeup
Give your skin at least 24 hours makeup-free post-treatment. If needed after that, opt for lightweight, fragrance-free, non-comedogenic formulas.

No Exfoliation Yet
Avoid scrubs, exfoliating acids, or retinol for at least 5-7 days to prevent irritation and give your skin time to settle.

Skip Pools & Hot Tubs
Chlorine and salt water can disrupt your skin barrier. Avoid swimming, spas, and hot tubs for 48 hours after treatment.

Monitor Your Skin
Mild redness or sensitivity is normal, but if you notice swelling, blisters, or prolonged irritation, please get in touch straight away.

Stay on Track
Your practitioner may provide tailored aftercare instructions or recommend follow-up sessions. Be sure to follow through for the best long-term results.
